TOBACCO HEALTH HAZARDS YOU SHOULD KNOW
Life is more precious than burning it with a cigarette.
Smoking (tobacco) health hazards correlate with both the amount of cigarettes as well as the duration of smoking.
You have to quit smoking before serious health events. In fact; about 50% of smokers quit smoking after a serious life-event disease.
Let’s review the ingredients of the tobacco toxin.
Note that smokers are exposed and expose other non-smokers through passive smoking.
TOBACCO &Carbon Monoxide.
Smokers have higher levels of carboxy hemoglobin(5-8%) compared to non-smokers (1-3%). Carbon monoxide binds to hemoglobin at the same sites as oxygen, but with higher affinity and 210 times more tightly.
TOBACCO & Cadmium:
Cadmium is used to recharge the battery. The tobacco plant readily absorb cadmium from the soil. The higher content in tobacco smoke reflects the higher content of cadmium in tobacco leaf.
Although Cadmium, Lead and mercury are deposited on tobacco leaves from particles in the air. Additionally some fungicides and pesticides containing toxic metals have been sprayed on tobacco leaves or soil. surprisingly; most of the metals present in plants are absorbed from the soil.
Cigarettes & Nicotine:
Nicotine leads to addiction. Each cigarette contains about 10 milligrams of nicotine. Surprisingly; Nicotine is used as insecticide. (1)
TOBACCO & Benzene:
Benzene found in rubber cement and gasoline.
TOBACCO & Ammonia:
Amonia is a floor and bathroom cleaner. Amonia allows un-protonation of nicotine leading to increase its absorption and bio-availability.
Tobacco &Acetylene:
Acetylene is a colorless gas used in bathrooms.
Smoke & Acetaldehyde,
Acetone and acetylene had the greatest potential for respiratory system irritation.
Smoke & Methanol:
Methanol is rocket fuel. On the cellular level; Methanol promotes depletion of natural cellular anti-oxidants.
Cigarettes & Methane:
Methane Swamps gas and mines.
PAH:
polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are responsible in the pathology of many cancers.
Cigarettes & Cyanide and Arsenic
The Potent toxins Cyanide & Arsenic are among the primary risks for cardiovascular diseases.
Surprisingly; Arsenic the toxic metal is as rat poison.
Tobacco & Methylamine:
Methylamine is a flammable gas and contributes to carcinogenic potential of tobacco.
Tobacco & Formic acid
Formic acid is higher in side stream smoke.
WHAT IS FILTERED CIGARETTES?
Filtered cigarettes are”safer”, by the 1960s, they dominated the market. Production of filter cigarettes rose from 0.5 % in 1950s to 87.7 % by 1975. The addition of a filter tip to a cigarette can greatly reduce delivery of many chemical constituents of mainstream smoke.
This reduction was due to filtering of the smoke particles and reducing the amount of tobacco in each cigarette. Cost savings are achievable because the filter material is less expensive than the tobacco. Filters provide a firm mouthpiece and permit the smoker to avoid direct contact with the tobacco. (2).
BIRDS AVOID TOBACCO PLANT
N.B because birds have pure instinct; they do not approach the plant tobacco and fly away from it. Also; Bees do not descend on this plant, nor eat of flowers. Animals too do not eat this plant.
God has chosen the smoker as the only human-being to all his creatures with a mind to distinguish between malignant and good. However; he unfortunately practices smoking.
Nicotine is a highly toxic chemical in the tobacco plant. However, cigarettes contain obviously much less than is a fatal dose for humans who ultimately tolerate much higher doses of the chemical on continuous use.
Smaller animals and insects on the other hand do not tolerate nicotine. It is this fact that grant the evolutionary advantage on the tobacco plant as the animals and insects don’t eat the leaves.
In fact; a research at St Andrews University reports that birds are keeping their nests warm and pest-free by lining them with cigarette butts.
